Conversation Groups for University Students
"An English break" is a weekly rendez-vous for students that takes place at "My Favourite Place", 4 rue de l'Espine every Tuesday from 5 to 6. Free activity for library members.

Pizza and board games
Pizza and Board games
is scheduled one Tuesday a month from 6-8 pm. Cost is 6 euros (covers pizza and non-acholic drinks, 3 euros for native English speakers and children under 16). No reservations necessary, just come and enjoy! Remaining date for 2011 is December 13th.

Permanence in Saumur on Wednesday, Dec. 7th
The English-language Library offers a book table and activities at the mediatheque in Saumur one Wednesday a month from 2 to 6 p.m. Schedule is:
Book table : from 2 to 6 ( selection of over 100 books in English for both adults and children). Also note that the library leaves a box of books at the check-in counter.
Literary group : from 11 - 12
Bookclub : starts at 4
Children's program : starts at 3 and then at 4 (two time slots, same activity), for the 3 to 10 year olds

"Knitting and Nattering*"
Come along and bring your knitting,
Have a natter while you're sitting,
Or learn to knit with wool provided,
Needles loaned and stitches guided.
Knitted garments are très chic
So be in vogue and start this week.
Knit and natter is an activity open to all members, men included! It takes place on Friday from 10-11 in the morning.
*Natter, according to the Oxford University dictionary, means "to talk casually, especially on unimportant matters"

Sunday Special Events
For every Sunday from November 13th - March 18th the library will offer an assortment of entertainment from 3pm to 6pm. Free and open to the public.
On December 4th : Make your own Christmas cards. 3€/person to cover materials.
On December 11th : Christmas caroling.
All you need to do is to wear red and green AND WARM clothes (and a red santa hat if you have one!), meet at the library at 2:30 before going out to carol in the streets of Angers. If you would like, bring some baked Christmas treat to share with everybody for when we come back to the library. No need to sign up, just come and sing to your heart's content!
14:30 meet at the library to warm up the vocal cords
15:00 - 17:00 Christmas carols in town, the library will be locked up at this time
17:00 - Christmas goodies to eat and drink (feel free to bring something)
On December 18th : Collective reading of favorite Christmas stories. Feel free to bring and share your own. |

Bookclub
The Bookclub will discuss "The Bottle Factory Outing " by Beryl Bainbridge on Dec. 16th at 2:30 pm.

Celebrate the fall with a cup of tea and an afternooon of discussing literature..."Books and Tea" is a monthly meeting for bookworms and tea drinkers. Bring a book you've really enjoyed, talk about it and pass it on! Next dates is December 15th. This activity takes place at "My Favorite Place" 4 rue de l'Epine starting at 2. No need to sign up, just come and enjoy. |

The writer Laurence Werner David reads in French
Join the library and the non-profit "Chant des Mots" for a reading in French by the writer Laurence Werner David. Free and open to the public. Evening on Dec. 15th at 7 pm.

Christmas Show
The children will be celebrating the upcoming holidays with a Christmas show and you are invited to see them perform.

Coffee House
This is a special moment when the community gathers together to talk about everything and anything (...in English of course...) and sip fair trade coffee and tea. Coffee House takes place on Friday mornings (except school holidays between 9 and 11 and is open to library members. Just drop in, no need to reserve!
